Biodiesel Advocacy week in Washington
The U.S. biodiesel industry will converge on Washington, D.C., on Nov. 14th for NBB's bi-annual member meeting. Capitol Hill will be crawling with biodiesel leaders from around the country urging their elected officials to support our industry's priorities. Even for those not attending, this is a great time to show our industry's strength by contacting your U.S. senators and representatives to let them know that the biodiesel industry is important to you and your community.
Specifically, our Washington efforts now are focused on building support for the biodiesel tax incentive, which is slated to expire at the end of the year. We're seeking co-sponsors for the Biodiesel Tax Incentive Reform and Extension Act of 2011 (H.R. 2238, S. 1277). This is a critical policy for the future growth of our industry, so please take time during the week of our meeting to reinforce our legislative efforts. Please visit our grassroots advocacy site here for talking points, frequently asked questions, and other information about our outreach on Capitol Hill. If you need help finding specific contacts for individual lawmakers, please call our Washington office at 202-737-8801.
This is shaping up to be a great year for the biodiesel industry, but let's make sure we keep the momentum going by supporting a strong energy policy that supports renewable, domestic energy production.
